When the BTCC arrives at Croft Circuit for rounds 16, 17 & 18 on 27/28th July next year, the usual runners and riders will be joined for a guest appearance by The Classic Touring Car Racing Club’s Pre-’66 Touring Car category. Featuring some of the fan favourites from the rich history of the championship, the crowds will likely be treated to the sight of Minis, Lotus Cortinas, Capris, Escorts and BMW 1800s.
The Category takes the place of the usual running of the British F4, who have added a meeting at Zandvoort. Guest categories were a regular element of the BTCC support bill after the Ginetta series switched to the British GT package for the 2023 season. This represents the first time that historics from a variety of marques have featured since the Historic Sports Car Club’s Super Touring Challenge in 2014/15.
The Classic Saloon and Historic Touring Car Championship is for competitors participating in four-seater saloon cars marketed before 1st January 1966.
